Judy
Hamilton, a native of Golden, Colorado, is the
owner of Chelsea of London, a small but lovely
lingerie shop. Chelsea of London is located in
Downtown Golden; A quaint area perfectly set up for
walk-in business fueled by tourism. The shop is
open from 10 to 6 everyday, excluding Sundays.
While
Ms. Hamilton spent years working for various
companies as an accountant, this is her first
experience as owner of her own business. Since it
has been 9 years since the opening, it is quite
obvious Ms. Hamilton is successful and competent.
When asked what inspired her to start her own
business, she responded, "I finally got to the age
where I could do something I wanted to do."
Chelsea
of London caters to women of all sizes and shapes.
By carrying an extensive collection of sizes, the
store has a huge advantage most lingerie stores
such as Victoria's Secret lack. Not only is
carrying a wide variety of sizes an element of the
store's success, but all of the advertisement
strategies used have worked wonderfully as well.
Between the store's Internet site, the article in
the mountain magazine, Serenity, and local bridal
store's recommendations to buy underthings from
Chelsea of London, the store has almost all of its
advertisement bases covered.
Not
only is Ms. Hamilton thoroughly investing her time
into her shop, she is also a strong member of the
community by donating to the local school and
donating warm winter leftovers to Hospice. When
asked how she was helping her community, Ms.
Hamilton replied laughing, "By helping women. ..".
By
creating a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, Ms.
Hamilton's clientele are always at ease and almost
always come back. Even the economic effects of
September could not keep this store down for long,
as Ms. Hamilton has just had the best October,
November, and. December in nine years. Chelsea of
London is an ideal store for any woman looking for
lingerie.
