Golden High School Demons

Click on the above link and you will be welcomed to the Golden High School web page. GHS is located in the beautiful foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Golden, Colorado. Golden High School, founded in 1873, is the oldest school in Colorado with its over 125 year history.

Golden High School has approximately 1,350 students in four grades and is a part of Jefferson County Public Schools. In 1860, the first school in the city of Golden was established. By 1905, Golden High had grown and graduated 21 people that year. Nearly five decades later the current Golden High School building was constructed. In 1986 GHS had a much needed remodel, joining the five seperate bulidings into one, and the school has been mostly unchanged since.  1998 was a banner year for GHS, as we celebrated our 125th anniversary. Golden High School  is currently the oldest  school in the state of Colorado and is home to the mighty "Demons".  We look forward into the next millenium to continue providing a quality education to the residents of Golden and the surrounding community.
